Library Orientation Program for the Department of Software Engineering (SWE) - 261 Batch

The Green University Library successfully conducted a Library Orientation Program for the Department of Software Engineering (SWE) on 22 February 2026 at 9:00 AM in Conference Room A-302, Admin Building. The session aimed to familiarize students with the library’s resources, services, and facilities, while providing practical guidance on their effective use for academic success.

The program began with a warm welcome and opening remarks by Ms. Kazi Fatema, a student of the Department of Software Engineering, who also served as the anchor of the session.

Following this, Mr. Sapnil Shahriar Suad, Student Representative of SWE for the Library, shared his personal experiences of utilizing library resources. He highlighted the growing concern of declining attention spans in today’s digital age and emphasized the importance of reading books in developing focus, critical thinking, and intellectual growth. He also underlined the vital role of libraries in nurturing a strong reading culture among students.

The session was further enriched by a brief address from Dr. Md. Mostafijur Rahman, Chairperson of the Department of Software Engineering. He highlighted the diverse services offered by the library and encouraged students to regularly utilize its resources to enhance their academic performance and overall development.

Subsequently, Ms. Zakia Sultana Tamanna, Library Officer, conducted an interactive and hands-on demonstration of the library’s services. She guided students on how to search for books, access e-resources, and effectively use the available facilities to support their academic and research needs.

The program concluded with an open invitation to students to visit the library regularly, explore its extensive collections, and engage with the library team for continuous academic support.
