Fresher's Orientation - Summer 2026

The Department of Software Engineering proudly welcomed the newest members of our academic family through a successful Freshers’ Orientation Program - Summer 2026.

The event was organized by the Green Software Club who cordially received the newly admitted students of the Summer 2026 semester. The program was held on June 13, 2026, at 11:30 AM in Room B-108, Green University of Bangladesh.

The program began on a spiritual note with recitations from the Holy Quran by Md. Mahmudul Hasan Khan (Batch 250) and the Holy Gita by Shormista Halder (Batch 242). This was followed by a heartfelt welcome speech delivered by senior student Tanha Tasri (Batch 242), who shared valuable insights from his academic journey and personal experiences at the university.

Subsequently, a video documentary showcasing the Department of Software Engineering was presented by Nusrat Rahman (Batch 261), highlighting the department’s achievements, academic environment, and club activities. Following this, Sapnil Shahriar Suad (Batch 251) introduced the esteemed faculty members of the SWE department, along with the club members.

Later in the program, Dipankar Sarker (Batch 242) spoke about the Mentorship Program and Social Capital, emphasizing their crucial role in students’ academic growth and professional development. After that, Md. Seyam Hossain (Batch 242) delivered a presentation on Introduction to Programming Contests.

Following this, Mr. Abrar Hasan, Lecturer and Program Coordinator of the Department of SWE, provided essential academic documents and guidelines to assist the newly enrolled students in navigating their academic journey. The session concluded with an engaging interactive Q&A segment, where freshers actively participated and received clarification on their queries.

The program was chaired by the Honorable Dr. Md. Mostafijur Rahman, Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Department of SWE, GUB. In his role as Session Chair, he warmly welcomed the freshers and introduced them to the department’s values, vision, and academic expectations. He also expressed sincere appreciation to the anchors, organizing committee, club moderators, mentors, club members, student volunteers, and all faculty members for their dedicated efforts and cooperation.

The event was gracefully hosted by Jannatul Ferdous Jim (Batch 251), who's professionalism ensured a smooth and engaging flow throughout the program.

Overall, the orientation program successfully laid a strong foundation for the new students, inspiring enthusiasm and confidence as they embark on their academic journey.
