Freshers' Orientation Program for the Department of Software Engineering, organized in collaboration with the Green Software Engineering Club to warmly welcome the newly enrolled students for the Spring 2025 semester. The event took place on January 30, 2025, at 2:25 PM in the J-105, Green University of Bangladesh.

The program commenced with recitations from the Holy Quran by Mohammad Seyam Hossain (Batch 242) and the Holy Gita by Shormishtha Halder (Batch 242). Following this, Dipankar Sharkar (Batch 242), a senior student, delivered a welcome speech, sharing valuable insights from his academic journey and university experiences. 

After that, Taimia Howlader (242) presented a video documentary highlighting the SWE department's activities and achievements, which were met with great enthusiasm from both students and faculty. Tayebur Rahman Fahim introduced the GUB faculty members, while Nazmul Hossain (Mentor) discussed the Mentorship Program and Social Capitals, emphasizing their importance in students' academic and professional development.

We were honored by the presence of the honorable Prof. Dr. Md. Saiful Azad, Dean, FSE, and Director of IQAC, GUB, as our Special Guest. He delivered an inspiring and insightful speech to the new students. His reflections on technological advancements and career opportunities were both thought-provoking and motivational.

We were also privileged to have the honorable Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Vice Chancellor, GUB as our Chief Guest. In his inspiring speech, he emphasized the department's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and its dedication to providing continuous support to students. He highlighted the importance of innovation and research in shaping the future of technology. Specifically, he shared insights into the latest advancements in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), shedding light on how these technologies are revolutionizing various industries.

The program was chaired by the honorable Dr. Md. Mostafijur Rahman, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of SWE, GUB. As Session Chair, he warmly welcomed the freshmen, introducing them to the department's values and academic expectations. He appreciated the anchors, the organizing team of the orientation program, club moderators, mentors, club members, student volunteers, and all the faculty members of the Dept. of SWE for their kind cooperation. 

Furthermore, Mr. Abrar Hasan (PC) provided essential documents and guidelines to help new students navigate their academic journey. The program concluded with an interactive Q&A session, during which new students actively engaged, asking questions and gaining clarity on their concerns.

The event was expertly hosted by Taimia Howlader and Jannatul Nayeema, ensuring a seamless flow throughout the program.
