Department of Software Engineering Conducts Industry Visit to Riseup Labs

The Department of Software Engineering successfully organized an industry visit to Riseup Labs on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, as part of the Software Requirements Engineering course. The visit was arranged to provide students with practical exposure to industry practices and to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world software development.

A total of 18 students from Batch 251, accompanied by two faculty members, participated in the visit. The participants departed from the Green University of Bangladesh campus by university bus at 10:00 AM and traveled to Riseup Labs, Floor 3, Natore Tower, Service Road, Sector 3, Uttara, Dhaka 1230, Bangladesh. The official program was conducted from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM, after which the participants returned to the university campus using the university bus.

Upon arrival, the participants were warmly welcomed by the Riseup Labs team and introduced to the company's work environment, organizational culture, and software development practices. The session was conducted by professionals serving in key organizational roles, including the Product Lead, Project Manager, HR, and Business Lead, who shared their experiences and perspectives on software engineering in the industry.

A major highlight of the visit was an interactive Question and Answer (Q&A) session, during which students engaged directly with the industry professionals. The discussion centered on topics related to Modern Software Engineering Practices and Software Requirements Engineering.

The session further provided students with valuable insights into the roles and responsibilities of professionals involved in software development and highlighted the importance of effective communication between technical and business teams. Students were encouraged to actively participate by asking questions, allowing them to connect concepts learned in the classroom with real-world software engineering practices.

In addition to the technical discussions, the Riseup Labs representatives shared valuable career guidance, discussing the skills, professionalism, communication abilities, and continuous learning mindset expected from fresh graduates entering the software industry. The interaction offered students a clearer understanding of industry expectations and the competencies required to build successful careers in software engineering.
