The Department of Software Engineering (SWE), Green University of Bangladesh, successfully organized an interactive session titled “Chairperson Meets with First Semester Students” to support and guide newly admitted students as they begin their academic journey.

The session brought together first-semester students, faculty members, and mentors in a collaborative and welcoming environment. The primary objective of the program was to provide students with clear academic direction, familiarize them with university expectations, and motivate them to approach their studies with confidence and dedication.

The program began with a brief introduction, followed by insightful discussions from mentors and faculty members. They emphasized the importance of maintaining academic discipline, effective time management, and active participation in both academic and co-curricular activities. Students were also encouraged to utilize available resources such as mentorship programs, faculty support, and peer learning opportunities.

The highlight of the session was the address by the Honorable Chairperson of the Department, who warmly welcomed the freshers and shared valuable guidance on building a strong academic foundation. He encouraged students to stay focused, develop a growth mindset, and embrace challenges as opportunities for learning and self-improvement. He also reassured students of the department’s continuous support in their academic and personal development.

An interactive Q&A session allowed students to express their concerns and seek clarification on various academic matters, including exam preparation, course structure, and available support systems. The responses from faculty members were thoughtful and encouraging, creating a sense of confidence among the participants.

Overall, the session proved to be highly beneficial, fostering a strong connection between students and the department. It successfully created a supportive environment that inspires students to move forward with enthusiasm, clarity, and a sense of belonging.
