The Department of Software Engineering at Green University of Bangladesh successfully organized an enriching study tour to Sreemangal, Sylhet, from December 21 to 22, 2024. This initiative aimed to blend academic learning with real-world experiences, fostering both educational growth and camaraderie among students.
Sreemangal, renowned for its lush tea gardens and diverse ecosystems, served as the perfect backdrop for this educational excursion. The tour itinerary included visits to:
Noor Jahan Tea Garden: Students explored the expansive tea estates, gaining insights into tea cultivation and processing.
Lawachara National Park: A guided walk through this protected rainforest allowed participants to study its rich biodiversity, including various flora and fauna.
Madhabpur Lake: The serene environment of the lake provided a peaceful setting for refreshsment.
Departure: The group departed from the GUB campus on December 21 at 1:00 PM.
Arrival: Reaching Sreemangal by 9:00 PM, the evening concluded with a communal dinner.
Activities on December 22:
Morning: T-shirt distribution at 7:00 AM followed by breakfast at 8:00 AM.
Daytime: Exploration of the selected sites, engaging in interactive sessions and nature walks.
Evening: Light refreshments and group activities before commencing the return journey at 10:00 PM.
Return: The team arrived back at the GUB campus on December 23 between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM.
This tour provided students with a unique opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge with practical experiences. Engaging directly with natural environments enhanced their understanding of ecological systems and the importance of sustainable practices. Moreover, the trip fostered stronger bonds among peers and faculty, contributing to a cohesive learning community.
